Rosalynn Carter: 1977 'Classic American Christmas'The Carter's first White House Christmas theme described it all in its title: Classic American Christmas. Mrs. Carter wanted 'a simple Georgian Christmas' and used natural elements such as wood, pine cones, peanuts, eggshells and many more to make ornaments. Some ornaments were crafted by members of the National Association for Retarded Citizens.
