Details: On Thursday, April 23,  from 8 - 11PM, Rock the Vote in collaboration with Fusion and Twitter, hosted its annual White House Correspondents' Weekend Kickoff Party in celebration of the 2015 White House Correspondents' Dinner weekend. The packed event featured a red carpet entrance where Fusion correspondent interviewed VIP and celebrity guests such as Kelly Rutherford, live performances by local bands, special performance by DJ Shiftee, and craft cocktails. VIP attendees enjoyed catering by STK Washington D.C. and refreshments by Green Hat Gin and Dave Matthews' Dreaming Tree Wines while the venue's courtyard hosted local food trucks with items for purchase. Additional sponsors that contributed to the evening's affair included iHeart Media, the Video Game Voters Network (VGVN) and Ogilvy Washington. Rock the Vote is the nation's largest non-partisan youth engagement organization and the correspondent's weekend celebration highlighted the organization's efforts to encourage youth participation in local and national elections.
