6 Months In Advance
This is the time to adopt a robust comprehensive skincare regime that is designed to refine, brighten, deeply hydrate and smooth any texture issues on the skin. This is where I make the recommendation to brides, grooms, but also red-carpet attendees to be robust and thoughtful about the skincare that they are using. It’s important to make sure that it is designed to bring the skin back to a place of balanced harmony. In terms of the products that I always use with brides, it’s important to note that these are designed to illuminate complexion glow, to lift and tone, and to really make the client look as rested and vital as possible.
It’s important to start with a good cleansing regime. I am a big believer in a double cleanse at night and in the morning, and these two cleanses should do different things. First, we know that the makeup and SPF that we’re wearing, and external environmental factors all collide and collect on our skin. They create a barrier to the skincare that we’re using. At nighttime I recommend using The Cleansing Balm. This is really helpful as Essential fatty acids help to protect the Hydrolipidic film of the skin.
The Cleansing Balm also helps smooth, refine and moisturize. What I love most is that it gives enough of a slip to really move all of the products and those external environmental factors around and off of the face when emulsified. I love to use The Cleansing Balm for the simple fact that it can be used in combination with a gua sha, cryo stick, jade or rose quartz roller, or with one of your microcurrent devices. I love to make sure a bride or groom is working on the architecture of their skin, and really working on muscle toning. It’s also great to incorporate facial massage which helps to depuff, move congestion and lymph build up out of the skin to give you that radiant, lifted, and snatched look that we’re trying to achieve.
After the cleansing balm step, I then use The Foaming Cleanser. This is really effective in removing particles that are still left on the skin. With its brightening agents and hydrators, it’s able to really absorb moisture to the skin and work on surface pigmentation and picking up tone and resonance so you’re immediately getting that brightening, luminescent, glowing look and working towards having an effective outcome within the 6–12-week period out from the big day.
I then go into The Essence, to refine pore texture and to eliminate the obvious inset look of fine lines and wrinkles. This product helps work on hyperpigmentation reform so that the skin looks smooth, even toned, and becomes a good blank canvas.
