The Seventies

The Seventies
In the seventies the Gay Rights Movement was met with a lot of success. In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality from the DSM-II, where it had been listed with pedophilia and zoophilia. Then in 1979 after the assassination of Harvey Milk and ten years after the Stonewall Riots thousands of people took to the streets for the first National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights which gained national attention.
