New York Legalizes Gay Marriage

New York Legalizes Gay Marriage
Fast forward to June 24th, 2011 when the decision had been made to make New York the sixth -and most populous- state to legalize gay marriage. This news serendipitously fell on the same day as NYC's Pride March which made the celebration that much sweeter. It was a big step for the Gay Rights Movement and 30 days later (when the law took effect) hundreds of same sex couples made their way to town halls and city clerks ' offices to have their relationships recognized by New York State law.
