The Thespian Waiter

It's probably safe to say that all waiters in New York began as thespians. You may meet them outside of their element and ask them what they do, they will respond that they are an ~Actor~. You will then ask what shows they are in and they will begin to ramble about the excruciating reality that is the auditioning process before, of course, finally admitting to working at some knockoff Italian restaurant in Alphabet City.

As their crows feet become more noticeable and their personalities more jaded, they will begin to simply answer that they are a ~Waiter~. They will then put on their best faux-grin and ask if you want anymore water, eventually forcing a smile and slight clap of the hands as you fail to tip them a "working wage."
