Nominated for: Outstanding Restaurant In a city filled with oyster bars, Pearl Oyster Bar has managed to outshine much of its competition by perfecting what it does best and not trying to over-stretch themselves. A seafood lovers dream, the lobster roll here is what started it all, and diners from all over the city flock to this charming West Village spot and endure hour long waits for the chance to try this famous dish. And while delicious, it is by no means the only fabulous dish on the menu. The plates here are remarkably simple, despite the complexity of their flavors, with the focus on highlighting the freshness of the main ingredients. Hanging on one of the walls is a tiny sign with a quote from Mario Batali saying that it's one of his favorite restaurants in the city, and we'd certainly have to agree!
