Print journalism might be getting all the death notices these days, but new media writers aren't exactly rolling in dough either. Former HuffPo editor and current Mediaite publisher Rachel Sklar knows this all too well.
And she isn't against a moonlighting gig in musical theater now and then Her stage name: Lady Jew-Ga. Her biggest hit: Bad Shiksa. See video below.
We suspect that most people reading a New York media blog are familiar with the term shiksa. But Sklar nevertheless explains it to the uber-goys: "A 'shiksa' is a Yiddish word referring to a non-Jewish woman, more colloquially imagined as a blonde object of fascination for nice Jewish boys." ( For further reference see Justin Ross Lee).
And so Rachel channels her inner-Gaga, goes platinum and woos funnyman Seth Hertzog in a performance that Paula Abdul would charitably described as "a little pitchy" were she still an American Idol judge and not pursuing a DIY degree in pharmacology.
