Guide Dots
This app was developed to help the over 285 million visually impaired people experience the world in a new way. Describing itself as an interactive audio guide map, Guide Dots verbally notifies its users of the stores surrounding them, approaching intersections, what friends have checked in nearby, special offers at restaurants, and even what establishments are particularly guide dog friendly. The more someone uses Guide Dots, the better the app gets by employing previously learned information and the user's history. With the help of mobile technology, a visually impaired person can now explore his or her surroundings in a revolutionary way; the point of Guide Dots is to make any journey one of potential discovery.
