Diego Uchitel Polaroids
While an actual polaroid camera is hard to come by these days, people still love the look and feel of the original quick and spontaneous photo. Though there are tons of apps that are meant to mimic the aesthetics of a polaroid, there is nothing like the original. Professional fashion photographer Diego Uchitel knows all about that. He remembers the days before the digital age when he used Polaroids as test shots. He notes that there wasn't a lot of emphasis on them "because the colors were about 30% of [those produced] in regular film," but he held on to his collection of 10,000 Polaroids and sifted through them to create this book of 240-plus never before-seen-shots in their original untouched form. From portraits of David Bowie to nearly nude Giselle Bundchen, "Polaroids" by Diego Uchitel will give you a behind the scenes look at fashion spreads for magazines like Elle, Vanity Fair, and Harper's Bazaar.
