Real hip schoolgirls, like that of Marguerite Duras' L'Amant, wear straw brimmed boating hats and shift dresses. Just accept that all french teenagers are better-dressed than you. Duras' nameless narrator navigates her teenage love life (if you can call her affair with a much older man "love") with more competence than you've ever navigated yours. Try some nautical chic looks and maybe you can tap into the romantic intrigue of L'Amant as well.
