- While singing background for the group Three Dog Night, producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte discovered Summers and eventually signed her to the European label Grooby Records in 1974. -Summer's 1975 hit "Love to Love You Baby" was her first major US hit, and it hit #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Though popular, the song was very controversial and several US and European radio stations refused to play it. -Summer's next two albums, Love Trilogy and Four Seasons of Love, both went gold in the US. - Summer continued to gain popularity in the US and abroad, and by the late 70's was a household name.
