Move Over, Whitney: The Garage Museum Of Contemporary Art Opens In Moscow

If you thought the opening of the new Whitney was big, take a moment before checking out this international affair. The Garage Museum Of Contemporary Art held a week-long series of celebrations and events in honor of the grand opening of its first permanent home. The sleek, modern, Rem Koolhaas-designed building in Gorky Park, Moscow holds contemporary pieces from artists such as Yayoi Kusama and Rirkrit Tiravanija, and called forth over 500 art and entertainment world influencers from around the world. From fashionistas like Karlie Kloss and Giovanna Battaglia to art world heavyweights like Jeff Koons and Jeffrey Deitch, it seemed like everyone who was anyone was in Russia this week to fête.
