Amid all the chaos of the end of Milan Fashion Week and the beginning of Paris Fashion Week, we've overlooked Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW), which ran in the country's capital, Jakarta, from Thursday, February 23rd through Sunday, February 26th.
According to Fibre2fashion,
About 500 fashion designers and small and medium entrepreneurs are likely to showcase their collections at the four-day event, which is expected to attract about 30,000 visitors.
In addition to traditional runway shows, seminars for designers and guests on topics like branding and trend forecasts were part of the event.
IFW is just getting on its feet (this is the first year, though Jakarta has held another smaller Fashion Week for the past few years), and all events were held in the Jakarta Convention Center. Though the looks on the runway were innovative and interesting, the best style was on the streets.
