It was Australia Day in New York City on Friday night as the American Australian Association and Australian wine company Jacob's Creek hosted a gala honoring the close of Australia Week USA, an event celebrating the best in Australian culture, business, art, and film for the past five years. The gala, held at the Waldorf Astoria, also honored one of our favorite Aussie's, Baz Luhrmann, for his innovative work as a director particularly on his latest film, Australia.

Guests including Hugh Jackman, Rubert and Wendi Deng Murdoch, Catherine Martin, Gemma Stooke, Simon Burke, Kristy Hinze, and Sarah Wynter and Luhrmann's wife (and production designer on all of his films), Catherine Martin were invited to an evening of cocktails, dancing, and tasty treats by famous chef from down under, Luke Mangan.
