Summer Beach Reading: Twenties Girl By Sophie Kinsella

by SAMANTHA KANTOR · July 15, 2010

Ever been visited by the ghost of summer past? It would seem so in Sophie Kinsella's latest book Twenties Girl, where creative and imaginative main character Lara is visited by the spirit of her fashion fiending, love advising, diva dancing great-aunt Sadie.

The story follows the late great-aunt Sadie's last request: for Lara to find a mysterious and missing necklace that once belonged to Sadie. Without it, Sadie cannot rest. The two (human and spirit) make for a comical team and the novel is filled with suspense and romance, during which Lara and Sadie find that they are not as opposite as they once thought. So funny, it might have you rolling on the floor laughing, Twenties Girl is a definite must-read for the beach. Kinsella's novel was featured in the Shecky's Girls Day Out V.I.P. gift bag given to guests in Southampton this past Saturday, so we know all these girls will get their fill of girly giggles. But you should too! Hit the nearest book store and buy a copy for yourself.

After a full day of shopping among the plethora of vendors and sipping on a range of X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, Midori Melon Liqueur, Anheuser-Busch, Bacardi Classic Cocktails, we know the girls at Shecky's Girls Day Out can't wait to get home to read their copy of Twenties Girl.
