Lauren Bush Fashion Designer

Lauren Pierce Fashion Line
She launched the line on September 11, 2008 under the name Lauren Pierce. In an interview with W Magazine, she explains why she used her middle name (Pierce) instead of her last name (Bush). She said,
"...wasn't a conscious decision. Obviously my last name is associated with politics. But Pierce is my grandmother's maiden name and my younger brother's name. It's not about downplaying my last name as much as it is about loving Pierce. And my brother is very flattered."
This ready-to-wear collection was completely produced in New York City using sustainable fabrics like hemp silk, bamboo, and organic cotton. Most of the organic cotton was hand-dyed by women living in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is part of a program called "Women for Women International" to which Lauren donated 10% of her profits. [TreeHugger] Check out some looks below!
