Cynthia Rowley Hosts A Gypset Pop-Up Shop, With Help From Momofuku Milk Bar

by Dena Silver · July 25, 2012

Montauk's chicest boutique owner, and summer resident, Cynthia Rowley opened up her shop Saturday afternoon to host a pop-up shop of Julia Chaplin's Gypset collection. Gypset is a bright and airy collection inspired by Julia's world travels. Julia and Cynthia were both in the store on Saturday, helping shoppers pick out a colorful Gypset dress and adorning them with quirky Cynthia Rowley accessories.

The Momofuku shack next door provided sweet treats to compliment the afternoon of shopping and fun, while adorable acoustic guitar player, Hannah Cohen, strummed tunes. The little Cynthia Rowley surf shack in Montauk is a fun place to stock up on colorful accessories, beach necessities, home goods, drop dead insane shoes and of course dresses that can take you from the beach to a benefit.

Julia Chaplin designed her gypsy chic line after traveling the world for a few years, and wanting to create something beautiful and chic that would be appropriate for any exotic vacation destination. Forget Ibiza and Marrakech, we're talking Alto Paraiso in Brazil and surf enclave Ghana. Also fit for a weekend in Montauk, colorful Gypset shifts will do just fine from a day in the sun at Ditch Plains to drinks and appetizers at Moby Dick's.
