As far as farm fêtes and beach soirées go, this dinner party totally outdid itself. Last Friday, Saks Fifth Avenue President Marc Metrick hosted over 170 guests(!) on the bucolic grounds of East Hampton's Fireplace Farm for a locally inspired meal to remember. Prepared by Chef Silvia Barban of LaRina Pastificio & Vino in Brooklyn, the multi-course feast featured ingredients from Fireplace Farm as well as other local food producers, with wines from Channing Daughters Winery.
Saks' co-host of the evening, traveling dining series Outstanding in the Field, set the scene with a dramatic, single long table that snaked its way romantically along the shoreline. Proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Quail Hill Farm.
