Huntington Village is just an hour outside of the city. The town of Huntington has a little bit of everything. The village has nice shopping, yummy restaurants and a busy atmosphere on a summer night. H-ton is a great spot to jump off grab a bite, some ice cream, maybe a drink, walk around and wait out the traffic. If you are looking to get your shopping on stop into Ooh la la, it's super reasonable for great pieces, I never walk out empty handed.
