If Lauren Santo Domingo's selling it, I'm buying it. Well, almost...
Back in 2019, Louis Vuitton partnered with the society doyenne turned Moda Operandi Founder to promote their newest Capucines handbag collection. From morning coffee in the garden of her Gramercy Park townhome, lunch meetings at Majorelle and an afternoon of approving photos at the office to a little light reading at home with her pooch and a fabulous night out on the town, Lauren stylishly sported the brand's classic bag every step of the well-lit way in this "imaginary day in the life" featurette.
Now, if I'm being totally honest with myself, I'm personally not all that interested in buying a Capucines bag - it's a great shape, sure, but I've just never loved a logo.
Still, I watch this video at least four times a month, and each time I'm worked back up into a frenzy of feeling like my life will be forever sartorially incomplete sans a Capucines on my arm. And of course it doesn't matter at all that in the countless street style snaps taken and Instagram pics shared since this video, I can't recall ever seeing a Capucines make an appearance in LSD's look - the heart wants what the heart is brilliantly marketed to want, you know?
Well two years later, and the duo are yet again targeting my weakness for all-too-picture-perfect-to-be-anything-close-to-reality luxury lifestyle montages.
Why isn't my dog cuddling up on chair with a handbag?
Why am I not sitting poolside or sunbathing or seesawing with a Capucines?!
I mean even her daughter Beatrice gets in on the action, toting hers on their trampoline!
Is this cute little bag all that's stopping each and every one of us from living our most enviable existence?
