Besides being extremely handy (the key itself doubles as your main keychain) which is what we think is what @virtualoliver was getting at, we thought it would be just PERFECT for all the house shares out there...After a rowdy night at Pink Elephant or The Drift Inn, it's much harder to lose your main keychain than your key... that is, unless, you lose the whole thing, and everything on it.
