When you first sought to open The Surf Lodge, what drew you to Montauk?
Actually, I'd been coming to Montauk long before I ever thought of opening The Surf Lodge. Montauk reminded me of the raw beauty of my homeland (Brazil). For me, it just felt like a real beach town surround by natural beauty and for me... this is what I wanted to share via The Surf Lodge.
