The second cookbook from Ricky Lauren, author, photographer, artist, and wife of Ralph Lauren, will be released later this month, and it's chock full of the famous family's favorite summertime recipes.
The book, titled The Hamptons, Food, Family, and History, features 130 healthy, fresh, seasonal recipes, broken down into categories by location. In the East Hampton section of the book, for example, are recipes such as mixed berry apple and oat muffins, cold poached salmon, and country chicken chili. Recipes are accompanied by beautiful photographs and sketches, and each of the book's 4 sections (Southampton, Amagansett, East Hampton, and Montauk), are introduced through essays written by the author about the family's connection to that particular town.
Of the book's structure, Lauren said:
"Over the years the type of food and entertaining we enjoyed reflected the atmosphere of the places where we lived at the time. Each locale inspired me to create a particular way of life, and this energized me to develop a direction of my own."

Some of the book's standout recipes include Dylan Lauren's Sunshine Salad, David Lauren's Spring Pea Soup, and Ralph's favorite, Nana's Rum-Laced Brownies.
Though the book is primarily a cookbook, scattered between recipes are essays about the history and the culture of the Hamptons, with titles like "Creativitiy Flourishes in the Hamptons," "The Artists," and "The Architects."
The Laurens are one of the Hamptons most iconic families, and with Ricky Lauren's new book, we get a portrait of this family through food. The book, of course, is dedicated to the author's husband, Ralph, whom she calls "the captain of our ship and the anchor in my life."
The book, which goes on sale May 28th (a few weeks too late for Mother's Day) will cost $40.
