Once upon a time, the only daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway discovered she had clairvoyant powers, decided to market them, and then fell in love with a spiritual adviser who already had the perfect Rolodex of celebrity clients.
So goes the very modern fairy tale that apparently is Princess Martha Louise of Norway and Shaman Durek's love story.
Though I fancy myself quite the royal-watcher, and somewhat of a secret Goop-enthusiast, it appears I've been woefully behind on this juicy tidbit of celebrity gossip.
Over the weekend, Her Royal Highness (a title which, incidentally, the princess requested be officially removed from her name) posted a series of selfies in the Hamptons alongside the East End's own royal, Gwyneth Paltrow, and GP's famous "spiritual adviser," one Shaman Durek, who, I was shocked to learn, is also the Princess's boyfriend!
The pair's relationship began making headlines back in May, when Martha Louise made things Insta official in a post calling the shaman her "twin flame" and hitting back at critics, saying "It is not up to you to choose for me or to judge me. I don’t choose my man to satisfy any of you or the norms or boxes you have chosen in your mind for me to be in. I don’t thrive there, nor do I exist in your illusion about me. I choose from love. And that’s it."
View this post on InstagramWhen you meet your twin flame, you know. I have been lucky enough to have met mine. @shamandurek has changed my life, like he does with so many. He has made me realize that unconditional love actually exists here on this planet. He embraces all of me without question or fear. He makes me laugh more than anyone, has the most profound wisdom to share and all the bits in between from the diversity of his being. I feel so happy and blessed that he is my boyfriend. Thank you my love, for including me so generously into your family. I love you from this eternity to the next. And to those of you who feel the need to criticize: Hold your horses. It is not up to you to choose for me or to judge me. I don’t choose my man to satisfy any of you or the norms or boxes you have chosen in your mind for me to be in. I don’t thrive there, nor do I exist in your illusion about me. I choose from love. And that’s it. Shaman Durek is merely a man I love spending my time with and who fulfills me. So thank you for respecting my actions and my choice of partner. All I know at this moment is that we love each other and I am super happy. Have a wonderful, loving Sunday and Mother’s Day(for the USA). 📸 @dhendersonphoto #love #unconditionallove #newlove #boyfriend #inlove

The couple, who has actually been linked since last year, also made some waves when they co-hosted a series of "spiritual workshops" in Denmark and Norway (via their own website, aptly called ThePrincessAndTheShaman.com) which were kinda scammy (sound familiar GP?). Princess Martha Louise, however, is no newbie when it comes to new age-y wellness hustles. In 2007, she founded Astarte Education, a program that promised "to help people get in touch with their angels." Hmmm.

In any case, this weekend seems to have been the first time Princess Martha Louise actually met her BF's A-list bestie. In response to Gwyneth's comment on the post, the shaman said, "love u sis I'm so happy my loves have met finally. Whoo hooo ❤️ I'm Lit 🔥"
We wish the throuple a very happy, jade egg-filled life together.
