Our love of Sunset Beach on Shelter Island goes way back...sure, last summer was the first we mentioned it, but, had we been doing gofg five years ago we would have still been profiling it way back then. The hotel there, a creation by the veteran André Balazs, will no doubt be full of the fabulous this season, serving up their one of a kind calamari while sipping on Balazs's very own Rosé.
'The private label André Balazs Réserve Sunset Beach Rosé will be available later this month. The grapes are grown near Balazs’s Sunset Beach Hotel on Shelter Island and processed by Wölffer Estate of Sagaponack. It’s a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay, and Balazs argues that it can challenge any California vino. “ [NY Mag]
A huge fan of Wölffer (a personal friend), we can't dream of a better paring....this will be one of the first things we try when we set foot on shelter island.
