Long Island Iced Tea
I once asked my mother how she met my father.
"Long Island," she said.
"You met in Long Island?" I asked.
"No," she responded. "Long Island Iced Teas!"
The drink, which contains everything under the sun EXCEPT iced tea, certainly does its job at speeding intoxication and social lubrication. But naturally it's horrible for you. An AOL Health report cites Long Islands as containing more than 25% of the recommended daily caloric intake. Yikes! You will certainly not look like that pilgrim on the left after a few of those.
The problem, again, is not the colliding chaos of different liquors, but adding cola and sweet and sour mash as mixers.
In place of these, try using Diet Coke, Diet 7-Up, and a fresh-squeezed lemon. While it may not taste exactly the same, it hides the taste of alcohol. And in a drink like this, isn't that all that matters?
