Do you feel being in a happier state is easier to write than being in a place of conflict and discomfort?
S:No. I can't write if I'm surrounded by people...I need to be in crisis, I need to feel like I can't write from a place that's happy. I need to write from a place that's vital, like if I don't write this now I'm going to die! Like it needs to be...I need this to save my life.So was this record difficult to write?S: No it came so naturally because I would lock myself up and be by myself, and be alone wallowing in sadness, and not allowing myself to see anyone and go out, or just like only have food delivered to my house, and live like a monk. Watch cartoons and feel sorry for myself and write songs about it.
