Did you know a lot about the culture prior to moving?
S: I knew nothing. I got there and I'm like just drop me at a motel or whatever, something cheap. And David's like why don't you stay with me, take my room and I'll stay with my parents. So I'm staying there, I don't have a driver's license, I can't drive and I'm all the way up in the hills. Within a week I went on a blind date with Robert Pattinson, who hadn't done Twilight yet, and that night I met the girl who became my roommate. I meet her at a party she was like "We almost wanted to sign you, I love your music!" and I'm like, "Can I crash at your place tomorrow?" So it was like a series of really weird random things, that aligned perfectly and it's awesome.
