[Naila Chbib] We all love a good make-over story. And behind every good make-over is often a talented and on point stylist or publicist. Being media fanatics at Guest of a Guest, we love nothing more than a good magazine make-over. The best revamp on the block this summer is Social Life Magazine headed up by publisher Justin Mitchell and Editor-in-Chief Devorah Rose.

Anyone lucky enough to not have been affected by the alleged recession to the point of actually making it out east this summer may have taken notice of this much appreciated magazine revamp. Perhaps you have picked up a copy of Social Life while strolling through the likes of East or Bridgehampton or while you were crashing one of the boom-bastic parties at the Social Life Estate. The tabloid-esque colorful pages of last summer are no longer and more refinement has been packed into the toned down Social Life Magazine where there is more white space and true haute couture is prominently on display.
[Social Life Magazine styled by Naila Chbib.] Part of the new image of Social Life has been heralded by Naila Chbib, the new Fashion Director of Social Life Magazine. Naila is an accomplished stylist who assisted major stylists for cover shoots for Harpers Bazaar by creating looks and dressing celebs prior to joining Social Life in January. While she has redesigned the accessories, jewelry and shopping pages for Social Life, her creativity and refined eye have taken style on shoots for the inside pages to the next level. “Thanks to my numerous contacts in the fashion industry, I was able to bring major high-end designers to the magazine that were not present before like Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, Valentino, Christian Louboutin, La Perla, Donna Karan and Versace, to name a few. I really wanted to develop a presence for the magazine in the fashion industry and bring it to a new level,” Naila shared.
For Social Life Magazine, Naila directs the fashion pages for each issue: from organizing and Styling photo shoots (castings, shooting location, styling on set, requesting samples) to putting fashion trend pages together. She styled the cover shoot for the June issue with supermodel Jessica Hart and recently styled the inside fashion story for the July 4th issue with photographer Jennifer Robbins – all of which look amazing.
The buzz around the Hamptons this summer for the new look of Social Life Magazine has been great. The collaboration with Naila, Devorah Rose, and Justin Mitchell has made a favorable impression on the community of readers. The high bar has been raised not only by the fashion editorials but also the cover models like Ciara on the July 18th issue and the Gatsby themed issue from July 4th featuring Lydia Hearst. The new image of the magazine is sophisticated while maintaining a feeling of fun and the features are in line with what the readers are seeking. Of course we all find a guilty pleasure in the Royal Court featuring not only a PMC count, but a newly added Fame Game rank. Furthermore, the new look is welcome and bodes well for the magazine’s image, especially in an environment where previous peers like Vox and Hampton Style have folded. Social Life is still running strong. Here at Guest of a Guest, we’re not just a fan of the Social Life parties – but we actually love and read the magazine too and the updated look and new additions to the staff of cultivated talent have been dually noted.
