The Munich Massacre was a legendary tragedy that occurred during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. The event, which inspired a major motion picture film, Munich, happened after members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage by the Black September terrorist organization. After their kidnapping, 11 people including Israeli athletes, coaches, and a West German Police Officer were killed.
