Slide #3

Tyson Ritter of the All-American Rejects got the evening kicked off with a DJ set. No offense whatsoever intended to Tyler and his band, but does anyone else feel like the "celebrity DJ set" is among the most meaningless and unappealing emerging nightclub trends? I'm not at all knocking actual, professional DJ's, who specialize in specific elements of crowd rocking and are very good at what they do. I am, on the other hand, saying that asking the lead singer of an emo band to DJ for a crowd is like asking Lil' Wayne to play the accordion for us: it's a completely separate skill that we really don't know if he has or not.
