So how was your night last night? A few glasses of Zin while you watched "30 Rock"? Or maybe you went out? Maybe, just maybe, you grabbed a big bag of flour and headed over to The London West Hollywood, where famous stuffed sausage Kim Kardashian was hosting a launch event for her new fragrance, True Reflection. And then, perhaps, you dumped that flour all over Kim's head while calling her a "fur hag" in front of a whole ton of cameras. If that wasn't you, I'll bet you'd like to see that video, wouldn't you? Of course you would. As you can see in the video, Kim is working the carpet at The London when a lady pulls a vegan "Carrie" on her in what appears to be a statement against Kim's love of animal fur fashion. Or, as some have hilariously noted, maybe Lindsay just sneezed on her.
All fun aside, a quick PSA: we here at GofG are, at best, ambivalent about the tactics used by PETA and other animal liberation organizations. While factory farming and its related clothes-making processes are unquestionably greed-driven and immoral, the decision to use what amounts to a terrorist playbook, albeit a non-lethal one, ultimately alienates more people than it brings in, even if the target is someone as generally unsympathetic as Kimbo. Furthermore, as animal lovers and pet owners, we still find PETA itself (though they've officially denied any involvement in this particular attack) to be a disingenuous organization more concerned with their own PR war than, say, not killing animals. As much as we have no problem with anyone attacking Kim with words (nonstop, all the time), we really don't condone physical attacks on anyone, even a vapid talking bratwurst like Kim Kardashian.
And by the way, don't forget the real victims here.
