An average rapper might be content to sink a large portion of his earnings into a single diamond-encrusted chain that would serve as a signature piece of sorts. Nothing about Gucci Mane is average. This is perhaps why, rather than putting all his eggs into one basket, Mr. Mane has been collecting iced-out chains like a 13 year-old collects pornography: enthusiastically and with little regard for quality control. Now, bear in mind that this is a guy who last year
celebrated his release from a mental hospital by getting an ice cream cone tattooed on his face, so to say he's a little kooky might not fully capture what's going on here.
Nevertheless, he's made a significant amount of profit, mostly through selling his early music independently and with great success, and who are we to tell a grown-ass man that he can't reinvest those profits into a dinner-plate sized, diamond-studded necklace of Odie, the dog from
Garfield? Or, for that matter, into 274 other chains? That's right, according to some sources,
Gucci Mane owns 275 chains. I'm pretty sure Jacob The Jeweler doesn't own 275 chains.
