Slide #2
If ever there was a sign from the universe that it's time for David Bowie to step in and fulfill the desires of Coachella-goers, this would most definitely be it. Every year before the lineup is released, Mr. Stardust is at the top of everyone's lineup wishlist, and every year those hopes are crushed when say, Kings of Leon or Blur, are announced as headliners. I don't mean to incite the devastation that occurred that time that band that hasn't released an album since 1989 turned out to be a headliner this year instead of The Rolling Stones. What a tragic and cruel false alarm that was. But I do think two things are worth mentioning to support the possibility:
1. Earlier this month, Bowie released The Next Day, one of this year's fastest selling albums with new material, so promoting it with surprise shows would not be the strangest thing in the world.
2. Though he has long declined to say he'll ever tour again, his wife recently let slip in a major way that he'd be hitting the road. JUST SAYING.......
