Introducing Your Coachella 2010 Weekend Playlist

by Emily Green · April 16, 2010

We've put together some songs to go along with this weekend and get you into the spirit of Coachella. Not like you needed any more, but just in case you need that extra oomph to get you going. Or if you need to do a quick brush up on the music of some of the artists you'll be seeing this weekend. Now, you might be wondering where the eff the Jay-Z Blueprint 3 track is but hear us out: we've purposely omitted those songs from this playlist simply because everyone has heard them an inordinate number of times. We did, however, throw in an older Jiggaman track that you'll hopefully appreciate as much as we do.  Please listen and rock with care. See you on the polo field!

Mgmt "Congratulations": It's the single from their new album released Tuesday so they're definitely going to play it at the show. Learn the words so you can look cool and sing along! [photo via finefilter]

Grizzly Bear "Two Weeks": A more mellow track but totally necessary, just make sure it's loud. And you know you smiled when you heard it on those new punch buggy commercials during the Super Bowl. [photo via showclix]

    - - Passion Pit "The Reeling": 'Cause it's a great jam and makes you want to dance. Are you getting amped to see them LIVE tonight?! [photo via campusmediagroup]

    - Gorillaz "Dare": a classic by the non-group group. We know they're not going to show themselves but it's fun to fantasize sneaking a peak. Or would that ruin the mystique...? How cool would it be if Lou Reed and Mick Jones and the other special guests featured on Plastic Beach jammed with them on Sunday?! Let's hope! [image via 20watts]

Devo "Peek-a-Boo": Dude, DEVO is playing! DEEVOOO!!! So yeah, we needed to include at least one track from the landmark 80s band. And this is a fun one to sing along to.  Imagining the crowd singing along and getting really into it makes us giggle. [photo via freewilliamsburg]

    - - Benny Benassi "Finger Food": for those of you who are planning on rollin--I mean... like to dance to techno. With glow sticks. And relive your Spring Break in Acapulco experience. [photo via saintwoods]

    - Jay-Z "My 1st Song": self explanatory. Can't WAIT for HOVAAA. PS: Everyone make sure to whip out the Flipcams during this one so the world can see all the pale, skinny hipsters going nuts during his show because it's going to be hilarious. [photo via pollsb]
