Last night, Bing took over the trendy Sunset Strip steakhouse, Boa, for their Celebration of Creative Minds event. A far cry from an uptight, techie affair, the search engine busted out the big guns to make sure it was an unforgettable party: a private performance by rap superstar, Drake.
We hate to make generalizations and acknowledge there are always exceptions, but by and large, if the valet for an event at trendy "hotspot" is free, you know they covered the details inside to make it a great party. And that they did. Guests enjoyed the open bar, trays of champagne, and copious amounts of delicious appetizers (mini burgers, various skewers, desserts) passed all through the night. The crowd was an unusual mix of young hipsters, corporate suits, and of course celebrities. Among the many in attendance were Ryan Phillippe, Jamie Foxx, Nicole Richie, Kathryn Bigelow, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Aaron Paul, Zoe Saldana and Ryan Seacrest.
The hip DJ trio iSHOWMYSELF entertained guests until it was time to welcome Drake, who gave a fantastic performance. The Canadian rapper told the crowd L.A. was his favorite city, took shots with fans in the crammed audience, and dedicated a song to his homie, Lil Wayne.
And how could the night be complete with party favors? Bing didn't scrimp there either. Before heading out the door, they made sure guests (not just the celebrities, but normal nobodies) got their brand new HP mini laptops, naturally.
