Redlight's Red Carpet Premiere

    The Official World Premiere Red Carpet Screening of Red Light was held at the SVA Theatre this past Monday. This special evening was presented by Priority Films in partnership with LexisNexis and benefit Redlight Children, an nonprofit organization. The proceeds from the event went to Redlight Children and Restore NYC, two nonprofit organizations working to end slavery and child exploitation.-

    Redlight is a feature documentary about child sexploitation with a focus on the personal stories of its victims. The film followed grass-roots activist Somaly Mam and politician Mu Sochua over a four year period as they fight for change. The film was produced and narrated by UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Lucy Liu.

    The Honorary Host Committee included a prestigious group of women: Petra Nemcova, Cindi Leive, Lauren Bush, Ashley Judd, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Elizabeth Berkley.. and more.

    The multi-pronged event offered two screenings; one at 6pm for VIP guests and one at 9pm for the general public. Both screenings were followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers Guy Jacobson and Adi Ezroni; Nobel Peace Prize nominee Mu Sochua; and Susan Bissell, UNICEF's Global Chief of Child Protection.
