Ynon Kreiz, chairman and CEO of Mattel, was presented with CoachArt’s Heart & Humanity Award at the 14th annual Gala of Champions on October 11 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. CoachArt is a nonprofit organization founded in 2001 that provides free arts and athletic programming to youth impacted by chronic and life-threatening illnesses in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The event was co-hosted by CoachArt students Cameron, 17, from Pasadena and Marissa, 16, from Granada Hills. CoachArt volunteer Danny Ricker, the co-head writer and producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live, helped them prepare for the role; Ricker also helped Kimmel prepare to host the Oscars for the past two years.

The annual CoachArt gala honors individuals for exceptional professional success and personal humanitarianism. Business leaders, entertainment executives, community members, volunteers, and CoachArt families come together in support of the organization’s mission to create a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
