Last weekend, Julia Clancey debuted her Spring/Summer collection "Sensually Sorbet" at the Palihouse, and it was straight out of Alice in Wonderland.
The event kicked off with an afternoon tea style reception, gotta love the Brits, always pre-gaming the main event with class. The dress code for this garden party-themed event was fancy shmancy, but hey- this is L.A.! No fashionista likes being told what to do, so most opted to wear the classic legging and boots combo. The crowd enjoyed the free flowing champagne in the trippy tea partyesque setting, minus the tea. We're talking fake grass, flowers, lawns chairs and couches set up on the roof to watch the show.
The models flowed down the runway looking like mixes of hippies and Greek goddesses thanks to the Grecian dresses and vintage caftans, not to mention the bohemian staple of flowers in the hair. The collection was playful and free spirited, and some models got carried away and forgot to pose for the hoard of photographers. The show ended with croquet, dancing and lounging on the fake hills, and of course more booze and mingling to usher in the after party. Yes, the the Brits certainly know how to throw a smashing party.
