Since last week, events in honor of L.A. Fashion Week 2010 have been popping up all over town. But our version of fashion week strays quite a bit from the classic sense of runway shows and elegant parties.  Keep reading to see how we do Fashion Week with things like outdoor cocktails, poolside parties and Foosball.

    Geoffrey Mac Collection Preview

This is L.A., so it only makes sense that a New York designer take advantage of what this town is known for, but what he would normally not have the opportunity to do from his hometown, and throw a poolside fashion preview.

Geoffrey Mac presented his exclusive avant-garde collection in the outdoor setting of the Mondrian's SKYBAR. But rather than a typical fashion show, this was more of cocktail party where the designer's looks worn by models positioned in  space could be admired by guests over drinks.

Models in fashion-forward looks stood perched atop risers along the far side of the hotel's pool with the twinkling city skyline as the backdrop behind them.  The event was followed by a rousing post-event celebration which took the party to another level.

722 Figueroa Fall Fashion Release Event

722 Figueroa invited guests to their downtown L.A. showroom for a casual celebration of their successful season and two new additions to their family of brands, Astronot Clothing and RGT by Rogue Territory.

The event was unlike what you'd expect for a fashion week fete, with plenty of room and different areas to relax in the homey space, enjoy cocktails and, even get in some Foosball!
