[photos via Erin Broadley for LA Weekly] The Twittering elite of Los Angeles and Metric gathered at The Roxy last Thursday for this year's L.A. Twestival to raise money for Concern Worldwide, a humanitarian organization that empowers children through education.
And you can bet the event got its fair share of tweets.
If you haven't looked in your Twitter dictionary recently, "Twitter" + "Festival" = "Twestival," which in old English can be defined as "a charity event that uses social networking to bring about positive changes to the world." In this case, the event was hosted by Shira Lazar and Oprah Radio's Derrick Ashong and was broadcast on UStream.TV. But in addition to raising awareness for Concern Worldwide, you can bet it also raised awareness (or concern) about bandwidth limits. So now we need a charity for that.
