Women In Film (WIF) International hosted a special screening and Q&A in Santa Monica of the Sundance hit film Seoul Searching which was also LA Film Fest’s centerpiece film last year. In anticipation of its upcoming theatrical release June 17, 2016 in New York and June 24, 2016 in Los Angeles, Women in Film conducted an intimate discussion and Q&A with the film's actress Jessika Van and producer Andrea Chung.
Vine celebrity and actor Page Kennedy came to support his CBS’ Rush Hour co-star Jessika Van. Actresses Daphne Zuniga and Krystal Ellsworth who recently worked with producer Andrea Chung on a dance film called Heartbeats also came to support. Other attendees include: Women In Film International Co-Chair Ruby Lopez, director Dan Levy Dagerman, D. Taylor Loeb, Heather Toll, Jonathan Pears, Judy Jordan, Ronick Lavingia, to name a few.
Seoul Searching is a clever summer camp coming-of-age about cultural identity set in 1986 directed by Benson Lee and stars Justin Chon, Jessika Van, Esteban Ahn, Teo Yoo and Crystal Kay. The film has been critically acclaimed since its world premiere at Sundance for its respectful depiction of teens and has been described as a diverse and relatable film which won’t disappoint a die-hard John Hughes fan.
