After last week's success with bites by Animal, everyone's favorite weekly gourmet food truck hits the streets again today (and every Tuesday through November!) with offerings from The Foundry on Melrose. The restaurant's Eric Greenspan is sticking to the basics and has prepared some of our lunchtime favorites with a gourmet flair.
Items on today's menu include grilled cheese sandwiches and a salad of albacore tartare with carrots, garlic and pomegranate. At only $10 a pop, these boxed lunches are a steal and the perfect solution for your daily lunchtime quandary. Plus, Cart for a Cause's lunches give you the chance to exercise your charitable side, with all proceeds going to St. Vincent's Meals on Wheels program. How often can you give just by eating gourmet? The truck will be parked at the Time, Inc. building at 11766 Wilshire Blvd. in West L.A. from 11:30am-1:30pm, so make a mental note that it will be running 30 minutes earlier than usual. You better set your alarms to get there in time because hungry people start lining up early and those 150 meals go fast!
