Music mavens held their breath when word got out that designer John Varvatos was to fill the former CBGB space, a landmark invoking the grit and grunge of Old New York. Last night he hosted a Grammy week party at his Los Angeles store, featuring a performance by Alberta Cross.
The designer, clad in black and wearing sunglasses at night, welcomed guests to the standing room only performance. Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, John Legend, Common, Greg Kinnear, Dave Matthews and Joel Madden joined the party; anticipating the awards show as the countdown clocks t-minus two days until the 52nd annual event, the Oscars to the music world.
