Ruling With An Iron Fist

The mogul whose famous phrase through the years was "Content is king" (oh how he knew), was notoriously merciless when it came to hiring and firing, sacking CEOs without remorse if the company's stock went down by an inch. He's even defended his rearrangement of trustees by saying, "I have picked those who are loyal to me and removed those who are not."

In 2006, he shocked the industry by abruptly removing Tom Freston, long believed to be Redstone's heir apparent, as CEO of Viacom. One of the reasons being because he didn't move fast enough to acquire MySpace (LOL).

Similar to Rupert Murdoch, or the fictional Logan Roy, his cult of personality was felt throughout his holdings.
