Actual Death
Serving as a hideout for Hollywood's most hedonistic A-listers, it was only a matter of time before tragedy struck the Chateau. In March 1982, comedy king and deeply troubled star John Belushi died in Bungalow Three - from a lethal combination of heroin and cocaine. Earlier in the evening, he apparently partied at the hotel with Robin Williams and Robert De Niro. In 2004, iconic fashion photographer Helmut Newton also met a disturbing end on the grounds, when his car spun out of control and hit a wall on Sunset Boulevard.
Obviously, rumors now persist that the place is haunted. Let's just say we wouldn't disagree.
