Steve Cohen
At the top of our short-list is Steven A. Cohen, an aggressive Wall Street trader and hedge fund executive who hails from Connecticut and is worth about $8 billion. Cohen's current bid for the Dodgers rings in at a staggering almost-$2 billion, with half of that sum to be paid in cash! Steve is no stranger to divorce, as he’s been unsuccessfully sued once by his ex-wife for $300 million; maybe this will give him a leg up in the bidding wars since he and McCourt can trade notes on divorce over a $10,000 bottle of scotch and decide how much to charge for parking at Dodger Stadium. Although he has no personal connection to L.A., the Dodgers, or baseball, Steve has stated that his plans for the team would involve hiring Tony La Russa as general manager or club president, a move that would surely sit well with success-hungry Dodger fans.
