Parking lot and sidewalk BBQs are so hot right now. Opening Ceremony's last month was a huge hit, which might be where the guys on the 100 block of La Brea, not too far away from the high-end boutique, got the idea from. On Memorial Day, Union, Stussy and Undefeated, the trio of stores that sit next to each other on the American Rag block had a BBQ-sale event on the sidewalk right in front of their stores. A crowd of hip, young Angelenos came out for burgers, hot dogs and sodas while perusing the merchandise on the hot summer-like day.
Apparently BBQ's are a great way to get people to your sale and spending. Whatever the reason for the new trend in entertainment, we're into it and hope to have a summer filled with parking lot BBQ's where we can score a free meal and some new duds on sale. Who knew burgers and retail could go so well together?
