The Festival
The original Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, as its formally known, went down in 2008 with a crowd of about 50,000 a day and headliners including Wilco, Radiohead, Beck, Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, and Bon Iver, so it's safe to say they hit the ground running. This being San Francisco and all, the eco-friendliness and attempted carbon neutrality of the event is also a major point of emphasis. This year's event, featuring headliners like Jack White, Skrillex, Neil Young, Foo Fighters and Stevie Wonder, drew an estimated crowd of 200,000.
